Traffic Changes for Route 684 in Page County; Motorists Urged to Drive With Extreme Caution
The following is a media release from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
VDOT has closed part of Route 684 (South Page Valley Road) in Page County due to slope repairs.
The northbound lane of Route 684 is closed about three miles north of Route 675 (Bixler’s Ferry Road). Repair work began today (September 15, 2025) and is expected to take about a month.
Traffic traveling in opposing directions on Route 684 will use the single southbound lane, with motorists taking turns at a “stop and proceed when clear” sign.
There may be occasional daytime full lane closures regulated by flaggers and on-site crews.
Work hours are generally weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to drive with extreme caution. The slope failure is not visible from the road at night.
