SVFD Recognizes Service, Dedication at Annual Awards Banquet
STANLEY, Va. — On Saturday December 20th, the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) held its annual banquet and recognized members for going above and beyond.

The SVFD Recruitment and Retention Committee selects five members based on statistics throughout the year, and the awardee is selected by members through a voting process.
The SVFD issued a written statement of gratitude that read:
Congratulations to the award winners, and thank you for your hard work and dedication to our department!
Thank you, town of Stanley Mayor Michael Knight, and Evangelist Doug Gochenour for your roles in our banquet.
Thank you Christi Baker, Tammy Dodson, Steve Cooke, and Pam Hansen for preparing our meal and Rudy’s diner for letting us use their grill!
Lastly, this year our department honored its past presidents, fire chiefs and life members.
We would not be where we are today without the impact those men and women before us left behind.
They set the foundation of our department, and we will strive everyday to make them proud and carry on their legacy.
We want to thank the Luray Volunteer Fire Department for filling our quarters so our members could enjoy the banquet with their families.
We also would like to thank the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary for their hard work and dedication to raising funds for us. We couldn’t do what we do without them!
