STANLEY, Va. — A road trip came to an abrupt halt for two friends when a snake suddenly appeared inside their vehicle on Interstate 66.
Footage of the ordeal was shared on TikTok, where it has since gone viral.
The video, posted by Shianna Seal, begins after Seal pulled her Jeep Wagoneer onto the shoulder of the interstate as she and her best friend, Tori, searched for the snake that had startled them moments earlier.
Seal said the pair was on their way to see Ne-Yo and Akon perform at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow on July 17, 2026.
Tori initially thought that something repeatedly brushing against her foot was just the strap of her purse.
When she looked down, she instead came face-to-face with a black snake that had begun slithering up her leg.
Seal immediately pulled onto the shoulder, and the two women got out of the SUV while trying to determine where the snake had gone.

After several tense minutes, the creature eventually emerged from the driver’s side door and slithered away.
Although the encounter was frightening, the video captures the friends nervously laughing and joking with one another as they tried to process what was happening.
Seal later described the ordeal as “the scariest 20 minutes of my life,” but said she and Tori were eventually able to laugh about the experience.
Seal estimated the black snake was about 6 feet long. It was not believed to be venomous, and neither woman was injured.
The viral video has drawn reactions from thousands of viewers, with many commenting on the women’s composure, humorous exchanges and the snake’s surprisingly calm exit from the vehicle.
As of July 29, Seal’s video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times.
