Stanley Volunteer Fire Department Receives $2,400 Grant from SVEC
STANLEY, Va. — The Stanley Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) has received a valuable grant from Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC).
According to a written statement, SVFD Chief Jason Pettit, President Terry Pettit, and Captain Colin Huffman accepted a check for $2,400 on June 26, 2025.
The funds from this grant will allow the SVFD to purchase three Unication pagers, which retail for approximately $800 each. These pagers, which provide first alerts of emergency calls through the dispatch center, will further help the SVFD serve the community.
“We would like to thank the SVEC Grant Committee for selecting us and enabling this much-needed purchase,” said Huffman in the statement.
