Significant Construction, Delays and Detours in Luray Aug. 17–20
LURAY, Va. — The Luray Police and Public Works departments are advising residents that significant road construction will affect the following streets from August 17–20, 2026:
Campbell Street, from South Court Street to the railroad tracks
South Broad Street, from West Page Street to Virginia Avenue
Virginia Avenue, from Campbell Street to Planing Mill Road
Work will take place daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The three streets form the triangular section shown on the map shown here.
Intermittent detours will be in place around this area.
Milling and paving will generally be conducted using flagging operations; however, temporary detours may be reinstated as needed.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution near uneven roadway edges, street entrances, construction workers, and equipment operating in narrow travel lanes.
The town and its contractor appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during these lengthy but necessary traffic restrictions.
