Shenandoah Fire Department Among Crews Responding to Massanutten House Fire
MASSANUTTEN, Va. — Firefighters from McGaheysville, Elkton and Shenandoah responded to a residential structure fire in the Massanutten community Friday night.
The fire was reported at about 10:20 p.m. on July 10, 2026.
First-arriving crews found heavy fire at the rear of the home that was extending into the upper floor.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control quickly but spent several hours conducting overhaul operations.
All occupants safely evacuated the home, and no injuries were reported.
Additional assistance was provided by Rockingham County Fire and Rescue, Grottoes Volunteer Fire Company, Hose Company No. 4 and the Harrisonburg Fire Department.
Crews remained on scene for about three hours.
