Read Current Newspapers At Home, FREE — Via Your Local Library
Yet another great reason to have a library card
LURAY, Va. — It’s important to support local and regional journalism — especially outlets that don’t receive substantial revenue from advertisers. Larger publications, however, are often able to partner with library systems to offer content for free.
Massanutten Regional Library (MRL) has several great locations across the Valley. But they also offer online resources easily accessed via phone, computer or tablet — all from the comfort of one’s own home (or coffee shop or park bench). These resources include major (and local) newspapers.
Most publications available simply require a library card number for access. Larger publications may require a library card number and email address before access is provided. The Washington Post, for example, will ask library card holders to confirm a valid email address every five days, to resume free access.
These are not “free trial” offers. MRL will never ask for credit card or payment information.
