Luray Restaurant and Wine Bar Announces Closure
LURAY, Va. — A Main Street restaurant, known for its wine selection, great food and frequent fun events, has announced it will close at the end of April.
On the morning of Friday, March 28, 2025, the following message was posted on the Valley Cork Facebook page:
Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of The Valley Cork. After five incredible years, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors. Our last night of dinner service will be Saturday, April 26th.
This journey has been nothing short of amazing. We’ve had the privilege of sharing good wine, delicious food, and unforgettable moments with all of you. From celebrations to casual gatherings, special events to community connections, The Valley Cork has been more than just a restaurant—it has been a place where friendships flourished and memories were made.
Some of our favorite memories have been the nights filled with laughter and friendly competition during Trivia and Music Bingo with TopShelf Trivia. Seeing our space come alive with energy, camaraderie, and excitement has been truly special.
To our wonderful customers: Thank you. Your support, laughter, and love for what we created here have meant the world to us.
To our dedicated staff, past and present: You are the heart and soul of The Valley Cork. Your hard work, passion, and commitment have made this place truly special.
While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories will remain forever. But this isn’t goodbye! Our Grazing Tables and Charcuterie Boxes will still be available at Fairview Grocery, so you can continue to enjoy the flavors you love.
Also, between now and the end of April, we’ll be offering special discounts on bottles of wine, so be sure to stop in, raise a glass with us, and take home some of your favorites while they last!
We hope you’ll join us in the coming weeks for a final toast and one last meal as we celebrate the wonderful years we’ve had together.
With immense gratitude,
The Valley Cork Team
Already an existing business, Valley Cork announced it would open under new ownership (Lynette Shenk, Samantha Dean and Emily Moyer) in July, 2020. The official grand opening and ribbon cutting was held a few months later.
Since then, the restaurant, known for its delicious entrees, creative window displays and beautifully-plated charcuterie boards, was popular with both locals and tourists alike.
The March, 2025 announcement did not indicate a reason for the closure or what’s next for the women who tirelessly worked to make the restaurant a success.
As of mid-day Friday, the Valley Cork Facebook page was flooded with comments of shock and sadness, but also gratitude and well-wishes for the owners.
For those who still want to visit the restaurant, Valley Cork is located at 55 East Main Street Luray. Hours and additional information may be found via their Facebook page HERE or their Google listing HERE.
