Page County Awarded $50K for New Food and Visitor Hub
PAGE COUNTY, Va. — Page County will receive $50,000 in state funding to help create a shared commercial kitchen designed to support local food businesses and agricultural producers.
On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Governor Abigail Spanberger announced that the county was among 14 Virginia localities receiving grants through the Governor’s Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund Infrastructure Grant program.
The funding will support development of the Page Valley Food & Visitor Hub, a county-owned and locally-operated facility that will include a fully licensed, shared-use commercial kitchen.
An announcement by Page County officials has yet to be released.
According to the governor’s office, the facility is intended to expand infrastructure available to food businesses and producers of value-added agricultural products in Page County.
“The success of Virginia agriculture depends on the ability of all farmers across the Commonwealth to succeed,” Spanberger said. “These infrastructure grants are extremely beneficial for the state’s small and mid-size farms, helping to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers.”
The $50,000 grant will help pay for mechanical work in the kitchen, installation of a grease interceptor and three-bay sink, electrical upgrades for commercial appliances and food-grade flooring.
Spanberger said modernizing local food infrastructure can support agriculture while improving access to locally grown food.
Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Katie Frazier said the projects receiving funding are intended to improve and diversify market access for producers while encouraging economic development and entrepreneurship in rural communities.
Page County’s grant is part of more than $507,000 awarded to 14 localities across Virginia.
The town of New Market will receive $50,000 in funding to support construction of a permanent Downtown Marketplace Pavilion.
The project will include a 40-by-80-foot covered, open-air pavilion and an ADA-compliant restroom facility.
The pavilion is expected to serve as a year-round marketplace, community gathering space and venue for public events while providing space for vendors and visitors.
Other funded projects in the state include animal and wood-products processing facilities, a cannery, a farmers market, a creamery expansion, a produce-packing facility and a regional livestock marketing complex.
