OBITUARY: Cliborne, Emily
March 8, 1939 - February 14, 2025
Emily Gertrude Cliborne, 85, of Luray, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025.
She was born on March 8, 1939, in Madison, VA, and was a daughter of the late James Thomas Lillard and Ethel Lillian Mitchell Lillard.
On April 7, 1968, Emily married Thomas Cliborne, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a stepdaughter, Angela Cliborne; a stepson, Timothy Cliborne; a granddaughter, Tia Coppus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Rufus Vernon Lillard, James Willie Lillard, Marvin Wade Lillard and Vaden Lillard; and two sisters, Ruth Pingley and Margaret Sisk.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 17, at the Beahm's Chapel Church in Luray.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, at the church by Pastor Mike Propes. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Bethsaida United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brightwood, VA.
