New 55+ Community at Massanutten Resort to Offer Homes, Recreation and Amenities
MCGAHEYSVILLE, Va. — A new neighborhood for adults 55 and older is slated for development at Massanutten Resort.
According to an article from McKnights Senior Living, the 200-acre community will feature cottages, townhomes, terrace homes, and more, with 40% of the land preserved as green space.
“Bluestone Peak at Massanutten Mountain is for those who see 55 not as a time to slow down, but as a fresh start — a time to pursue passions, connect deeply and live life on their own terms,” Steve Krohn, president and COO of The Resort Company told a reporter at the senior living publication.
The Massanutten Resort property spans 6,000 acres in total.
Planned amenities at the new community will include pickleball courts, walking and biking trails, golf courses, and seasonal activities such as kayaking and snow sports.
A temporary “Story Center” at 404 Resort Drive is now open for visitors to explore the community’s vision. The first homes are expected to be available in early 2026.
