PAGE COUNTY, Va. — A Shenandoah County man wanted on abduction and domestic assault charges was taken into custody Wednesday after authorities warned he had last been seen traveling toward Page County.
The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) issued a public alert early on August 19, 2026, seeking help locating Wayne Allen Peck of Maurertown.
According to the SCSO, Peck was last seen near U.S. 211 heading into Page County.
Authorities warned that he had allegedly made threats to harm law enforcement officers and could be in possession of an AR-15-style rifle and a 9 mm handgun.
Peck, 35, was wanted on four warrants, including one count of abduction, two counts of assault and battery against a family or household member, and one count of obstructing communication to prevent someone from seeking help.
By mid-afternoon Wednesday, the SCSO announced that Peck had been captured and was in custody.
