Luray Firefighters Contain Fully-Involved Printz Mill Road Fire
LURAY, Va. — The Luray Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) successfully battled a fire near Lake Arrowhead Thursday evening.
On January 8, 2026, dispatchers were alerted to a structure fire in the 200 block of Printz Mill Road at about 8:47 p.m.
Two engines, two tankers and five firefighters responded.
Crews arrived on scene approximately 10 minutes after the initial call to find an outbuilding fully involved and nearly collapsed.
Dispatch reports indicated the fire was threatening the nearby wood line, a propane tank and a residential structure approximately 30 feet away. All residents of the home were quickly and safety evacuated.
According to LVFD officials, the fire was brought under control at approximately 9:06 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to have started after a controlled burn escaped a containment area.
