Limited-Edition Dog Treats Support Shenandoah National Park
LURAY, Va. — Local dog owners can support conservation efforts in Shenandoah National Park through a new fundraising campaign launched by a popular dog treat company.
Zuke’s has introduced a limited-edition package of dog treats benefiting the Shenandoah National Park Trust, one of three national park nonprofit partners selected for the campaign.
A recent Zuke’s media announcement said it will match consumer donations to the trust dollar for dollar, up to $25,000, through December 31, 2026.
Specially-marked packages include QR codes directing customers to a donation page.
Donations will support the nonprofit’s efforts to protect, enhance and preserve the park.
Shenandoah National Park features nearly 500 miles of trails, many of which are open to leashed dogs, making it one of the East Coast’s most popular destinations for hikers with pets.

In addition to Shenandoah, the campaign also supports conservation efforts at Acadia National Park in Maine and Sequoia National Park in California through partnerships with each park’s nonprofit organization.
The limited-edition Shenandoah package features Zuke’s Adventure Sticks, while separate products are available for the Acadia and Sequoia campaigns.
Zuke's dog treats were born on a trail in 1995, when a hike with founder Patrick and his Chocolate Lab, Zuke, sparked a simple idea: dogs need healthy fuel for adventure too. Founded in Durango, Colorado, Zuke's makes high-quality treats with purposeful ingredients inspired by nature, including high-protein meats, grains, fruits — and without corn, wheat, soy or artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. Guided by the belief that healthy dogs are happy dogs, Zuke's helps pets and their people find adventure anywhere, from the dog park to the mountain peak.
The fundraising campaign runs through Dec. 31. The limited-edition packages are available online and at participating retailers, including Target, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus and Meijer, while supplies last.
Consisting of nearly 197,000 acres, including 80,000 acres of congressionally designated wilderness, Shenandoah National Park encompasses parts of eight counties.
Each year, millions visit the park, which includes the 105-mile Skyline Drive, 75 designated scenic overlooks, visitor centers, lodging, and restaurants. Just two hours west of Washington, D.C., the park also offers many opportunities to enjoy an overnight stay in the great outdoors.
