Fugitive Nabbed During Search in Luray
LURAY, Va. — On Monday, a wanted man was arrested after deputies found suspected drugs at a local residence.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Drug Interdiction Unit conducted a search in the 100 block of Arts Place on February 23, 2026.
At approximately 3:57 p.m., deputies observed a white man attempting to flee.
He was quickly apprehended and initially provided a false name to law enforcement.
According to the PCSO, the suspect was later identified as Charles Shane Scott, of Mount Jackson.
Investigators determined he was wanted in Shenandoah County for a violation of Virginia Code § 18.2-51, malicious wounding or unlawful wounding.
Scott also had two active capiases in Shenandoah County for failure to appear or comply with court requirements, and was determined to have absconded from probation (left supervision or failed to maintain required contact).
During the search of the Luray residence, deputies located what they described as a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine and suspected cocaine.
Scott was transported to the Page County Jail and charged with the following offenses:
Virginia Code § 18.2-248 — Possession with Intent to Distribute
Virginia Code § 18.2-250 — Possession of a Controlled Substance
Virginia Code § 19.2-82.1 — Falsely Identifying to Law Enforcement
The investigation remains ongoing.
Scott is being held without bond at the Page County jail.
