SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK, Va. — Fire crews are battling a wildfire that has burned approximately 1.26 acres near the Stull Run Trail in the park’s South District.
The fire was reported on the morning of August 26, 2026, according to park officials.
Personnel from the U.S. Wildland Fire Service and Virginia Department of Forestry responded.
The Stull Run Trail runs along the park’s western boundary and is not directly accessible from Skyline Drive. The closest point along Skyline Drive is Brown’s Gap Overlook at milepost 83.
According to a park media announcement, no structures are currently threatened, and all park trails and facilities remain open.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
