Dofflemyer Reelected to SVEC Board Seat Representing Page County
LURAY, Va. — Jerry Dofflemyer has been reelected to the Shenandoah Valley Electric (SVEC) Cooperative Board of Directors, retaining the Central region seat representing Page, Shenandoah and Warren counties.
The election results were announced during SVEC’s annual business meeting Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Dofflemyer, the incumbent, faced three challengers for the Central region seat: David “Davy” Ferguson, Marvin Heinze and Wes Shifflett.
Voting was open to eligible SVEC members, with ballots mailed around June 22. Members with an email address on file also had the option to vote electronically.

Dofflemyer also serves on the town council of Luray. His current bio (via the town website) is below:
Jerry Dofflemyer served as the Mayor of Luray from January 2021 to January 2025.
He was appointed to the Town Council in March 2015, elected by special election in November 2015, and served on Town Council until December 2020.
He also served on the planning commission for two years. Mayor Dofflemyer was elected to the Board of /director of the Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative in 2019 and currently serves as the Board Secretary-Treasurer.
He is a graduate of James Madison University and a member of Main Street Baptist Church, served as a deacon and chairman of the Finance Committee.
Jerry is a past president of the Luray Jaycees, Caverns Shrine Club, and a past president, treasurer, and board member of the Luray/Page Chamber of Commerce.
He is a member of the Masonic Lodge and a charter member and former vice-chairman of the Luray/ Hawksbill Greenway Foundation.
Jerry has been a Cub master of Cub Scout Pack 55, an assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 89 & 289, and coached Recreation League Soccer and Little League Baseball, also serving on the Little League Baseball Board of Directors.
He has been honored by the Luray Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow and also served on the B.B.&T. Bank Page County Advisory Board.
He has been employed by Luray Motor Co., E.N. Hershberger Co., Shenandoah National Park, and Delaware North at Shenandoah Parks.
A native and lifelong resident of Luray, he is married to Nora Dofflemyer, an MRI Technologist at Fauquier Memorial Hospital.
Together they operate Pass Mountain Rentals, West End Carwash, and the Gleam Machine Carwash in Stanley.
The Central region is one of 10 geographic areas represented on SVEC’s board. Directors are elected by cooperative members and are responsible for establishing policies and providing oversight of the cooperative.
SVEC provides electric service to approximately 100,000 meters across portions of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas.
Before election results were announced at Thursdays meeting, an SVEC representative noted that this year’s election showed “significant increased member participation.”
