Crews Battle Structure Fire at Yogi Bear Campground
LURAY, Va. — A building at Yogi Bear Campground on US 211 W. was destroyed in a fire Thursday morning.
At approximately 2:45 a.m. on July 9, 2026, the Luray Fire Department responded to the campground after receiving a report of a structure fire.
When crews arrived, the arcade and snack shop building was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from the Stanley and Shenandoah fire departments and Page County EMS assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
As of 9:55 a.m., crews remained at the campground conducting overhaul operations.
No injuries were reported, and the fire did not affect traffic.
The building was declared a total loss.
