Brush Fire Burns Half Acre, Ignites Shed in Luray
LURAY, Va. — Firefighters responded to a brush fire that spread to a shed in the area of Arthur Lane early Thursday.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 3:40 a.m. March 12, 2026 after reports of a field fire near Fairview Road.
Brush 10, Engine 9, Tanker 1, Tanker 8 and Response 1 responded to the scene and found a half-acre fire that had ignited a nearby shed.
Crews worked for about two hours to fully extinguish the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
Officials are reminding residents that Virginia’s 4 p.m. burn law remains in effect through April 30.
Open-air burning is not permitted before 4 p.m., and all fires must be extinguished by midnight.
